Oracular Seið:
People listed here are ones we can vouch for: we trained them
in our method, or they're our grand-students and/or we've seen 'em
work. If you qualify and you're not on here, just let us know where
to find you and we'll set you up!
-
Jordsvin's Seidhr Index: We are, as always, in debt to
Jordsvin for maintaining this page of articles, for years
the only place for any information about the modern
reinterpretation and reinvention of seið--including the
way we do it! So he gets the honored top spot.
- Bjornsal, one
of several groups that got their start at a seidh workshop,
works in the New York/New England area.
-
Jenny Blain's anthropology, journeys, and images Doctor
Jenny Blain is a grandstudent of ours, whose book,
Nine Worlds of Seid-Magic,
portrays us in a very favourable light. Her site has another
introductory essay.
- Rod Landreth's material can primarily be
found on Jordsvin's pages, listed above. He's only slightly
less likely to piss you off than Raven Kaldera (see below),
but, like both aforementioned worthies, has Got the Stuff.
If you wanted to reach him, take the incantation
scrwBADSPAMMERtape@NOCOOKIEgmail.com and do with it as the
spirit moves you.
Pages, People, and Groups Related to the Core Oracular
Method
Similar to the above list, but for those who primarily work outside
heathenry.
- The Preserving
Shrine: Erynn Laurie Erynn Laurie is a practicing
fili living in the Seattle area and working
within the Celtic Reconstructionist tradition. A
fili practices the Irish art of filidecht,
or sacred poetry, which in its implications and related skills
can be considered a loose analogue to seið.
Pages, People, and Groups We Didn't Train but Think Are Interesting:
We don't necessarily agree with everything these pages have to say.
This is all right, as most of their authors don't agree with us, either.
- Freya Aswynn's Home Page
Freya Aswynn and Diana Paxson go back quite a ways. Enough said.
- The
Seiðman Rants Bil Linzie, the eponymous Seiðman,
doesn't necessarily hold us in high regard, but we respect
him anyway.
- The Staff and the Song An article by Annette Høst
on how her group, affiliated with the Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies, itself strongly associated
with Michael Harner's work, does its thing. No matter what
you think about Harner (and even we don't think as much of him
as we used to), we've seen them at work and their methods are
quite effective.
-
Raven Kaldera's Northern Tradition Shamanism:
I'll let him speak for himself; his work can be a bit of an acquired
taste. He would like you to read the following disclaimer:
This site is neither heathen nor Asatru, and the author
identifies as a northern-tradition pagan shaman rather than either of
the above. The writing on these pages does not necessarily reflect the
opinions and beliefs of mainstream heathenry or seidhr practice, so be
warned and read at your own risk.
- Firefly: A Collection of Northern
Tradition spirit work Silence Maestas is doing some interesting
work with plants and plant spirits, with a specialty in entheogens.
Worth a read, and we expect more good work from this quarter in the
future.
